Saint Raphael offers a variety of Social Services to support our parish school's community. Some services are offered directly through Saint Raphael while other services are supported through the City of Bay Village or a partnership program with a local organization.
Support for Mental Health and Wellness!
Did you know? Bay Family Services is a FREE program for all residents of Bay Village, and is sponsored by the City of Bay Village. BFS provides mental health screenings, consultation, crisis intervention, counseling services, referrals, and community resources for families experiencing a setback in life. Their caring and compassionate team of mental health professionals can work with you in a private and confidential setting to assist you in getting back on track.
Catholic Charities delivers more than 150 services at 60 locations to over 400,000 individuals each year - providing help and creating hope for people of every race and religion throughout the eight counties in the Diocese of Cleveland (Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit, and Wayne).

Saint Raphael School teaches belief in the sanctity of human life and the inherent dignity of the human person. We believe that all students, school employees, and volunteers have a right to a safe and healthy school environment. All members of the school community, in turn, have an obligation to promote mutual respect, tolerance, and acceptance. Harassment, intimidation, or bullying behavior by any student/school personnel in Saint Raphael School is strictly prohibited, and such conduct may result in disciplinary action.

The Raiders Club is a before and after school care program for the working families of Saint Raphael School. The club meets before and after every school day. Raiders Club is open to Saint Raphael children in Grades K-6. Raiders Club offers daily homework help and a variety of exciting activities each week. Students can join Raiders Club at any point in the school year, but must complete registration beforehand.
SVDP Cleveland is affiliated with the international Society of St. Vincent de Paul, one of the oldest charitable organizations in the world. Originally known as the “Conference of Charity,” the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 by French scholar Frédéric Ozanam, his fellow students and others – including Sister Rosalie Rendu — who helped thousands of poor residing in the slums of Paris during the cholera epidemic.
The first United States volunteer group Conference was launched in 1845 in St. Louis, Missouri. Only 20 years later, in 1865, the Diocese of Cleveland started its first Conference at the Cathedral of St. John. Today, SVDP Cleveland is comprised of 63 parish groups in Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Wayne counties.

Saint Raphael School provides a variety of programs to meet the educational needs of students. Specific special education programs include a resource program and self-contained program for learning disabilities. Specific information regarding evaluation, eligibility, placement, and dismissal procedures for special education programs can be obtained through discussions with our school psychological services provider, classroom teacher, and/or Principal.
The speech and language program offers help to students who need therapy for problems in oral language, articulation, voice, and fluency. The Ohio CareLine is a toll-free emotional support call service created by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and administered in community settings. Behavioral health professionals staff the CareLine 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They offer confidential support in times of personal or family crisis when individuals may be struggling to cope with challenges in their lives. When callers need additional services, staff will provide assistance and connect callers to local providers.
